Occasionally after an assessment orthotics may be required. These may need to be manufactured or an off-the-shelf pair may be prescribed.

After a consultation with the patient, the process of casting and manufacturing the orthotics begins. This process takes around 2 weeks in which the patient will return for a fitting.

Any last minute adjustments can be made to the orthotics with the constant reminder by the podiatrist of the importance to gradually introduce your orthotics, commencing with 1-3 hours daily.

Remember by wearing orthotics you are correcting your spine, hips and feet position.

If you have a favourite pair of footwear, please bring them along and discuss with the podiatrist the possibility of accommodating your orthotics with your footwear before manufacturing begins.
